Introducing Ben

Ben relaxing in the car after a busy mornings work!  (photo by Ken and Nathalie Westfield)

Ben came to us in 2002 after the sad loss of Khan.  He had a lot to live up to but is a brilliant teaching dog.  He police's a situation and seems to have that uncanny knack of knowing when to interrupt "rude" behaviour from another dog.  He loves new puppies but is just as happy in with the "body slammers". Having taught Carol so much, he is always glad to be with his friends and enjoy a good romp through the woods, chasing squirrels and rabbits.  Cant quite work out where they disappear to though!  Ben is now 10.

Katie - 21.06.00 - 26.7.10

Here is Katie with the rest of the team waiting to start work. Although Katie can be a little unpredictable she learnt to trust and was wonderful with the young puppies. Her favourite place was on Carol's bed resting!! She was 10 when we lost her in July 2010, such a big loss but we thank her for everything she taught us. She joins her team mates, Khan and Freya.

Khan & Freya

Two of Carol's beloved dogs, now sadly passed away, but their legacy lives on - read their story's.  Khan a Vigil Rescue dog and epilepsy sufferer and Freya who survived major spinal surgery and went on to help many other dogs.

Brook

Brook is Stuart's boy.  He is now 10 years old and another Vigil Rescue dog.  He loves nothing but to charge off with his mates into the undergrowth after anything he can find.  A true "bodyslammer" - he loves teaching other dogs not to bite too hard - a look is enough - but loves kids and puppies just as much. He is now our lead swimming club manager!

Zytta

Zytta is Stuart's second dog.  She is 9 years old and looks like a wolf with her unusual markings and greenish grey  eyes.  She's an RSPCA rescue dog. She is our true teacher dog - she is brilliant at puppy class but woe betide any dog try to mount her or is "rude". One look from her and the dog runs off back to its owner.

Tai and Kizzy

Here is Caroline our senior instructor with her two dogs who are seen at our training mornings. Both dogs are a pleasure to be around and enjoying helping with all the dogs especially the puppies. They have had one lovely litter of puppies of their own some of whom we have been pleased to help and train.

Pickle, Blondie and Ellie - 3 of Kizzy's girls from a recent litter.                  Then Ellie grew up just like her Mum!

Introducing Poppy, a recent rescue case who Kizzy has adopted as her own!

Sadly we have to report the loss of Tai recently.  Our thoughts go out to Caroline and her family. July 2010

Angel and Simba with Jane        Angel learning to trust with Stuart & Brook       Introducing young Torak

Emini and Prometheus  - Youngsters from Karis's family of boxers

Keegan

Here is another close friend of Ben and Katie - Keegan often came to stay but sadly passed away a few weeks ago. Jul 2010

Woody and friends

Woody was one of our rescue cases and has certainly had some fun this year! After his op, he started to sport a new style of fashion including a new hat - there had been food in that bag - and then he went to the beach!

Introducing Fern and Troy

The other side of Fern?

Twiggy, Fern and Hazel     would like to sing "How much is that doggy in the window?"

Introducing Moose and Charlie

 - These two delightful dogs have now grown up to best mates and are enjoying a wonderful life in France.

Here are Best Friends - Rocky and Guinness - then Guinness went on holiday!

Bella and Merlin - relaxing after a long climb up the hill at Windsor Great Park

Introducing Finley and his best friend Mya - an action shot?

George - special friend of Walkabout's

Here he is taking matters in to his own hands (or should we say mouth)

Spencer

Hercules on holiday in Scotland

Storm doing what he likes to do best!

Kai and Tess - two of our Vigil rescue friends

Molly

Molly belongs to Sharon and Neil along with several others also featured here.

Sad news received recently to let us know that Molly had died following a short illness. She will be greatly missed.

Sophie and Amy

Bookends - otherwise known as Sophie and Amy.  Litter sisters, they also belong to Sharon and Neil.  Amy (on the right) is a keen agility dog and Sophie is keen but has HD so her ability is limited.

More sad news from Aberdeen - Amy has also died following a short illness. Losing two dogs in such a short period is devastating and we all send our love and condolences to Sharon and Neil, their owners. We are sure that the other dogs are also missing their friends too. Aug 09

Blitz

The cuddly teddy bear - another of Sharon and Neil's and also a Vigil Rescue dog.  He looks fierce but is a big softy. More sad news that Blitz had lost his fight against CDRM - our thoughts are with Neil and Sharon - to lose 3 dogs in such a short time is almost unbearable!  June 2010

Finn

Here is Neil and Sharon's latest addition - Finn another Vigil Rescue dog, who is now showing his friends how to jump!

Chas n Cody

Here are Chas n Cody - two more from Vigil - who despite their peaceful appearance, are the dynamic duo at training groups at Frensham. Chas stayed with Carol when just a small pup but is now proudly owned by Hazel and her family.

Just you wait till I grow up!                                                        Here is my new friend - Chelsea

Kodiak is an Alaskan Malamute, about 6 months old, seen here with is owner Carolyn, who is learning all about teaching other dogs from his friend Ben.

Baby Blue is now over a year old and training to help other dogs.  She loves agility and jumping.

Here is Mark and his dog Ronnie - one of our success stories who is now helping others.

Introducing Indi with this owners - He has just successfully moved into the trainee teachers group.
